Workers Compensation
Initiated by NYACS in 1997, the Retailers of New York Workers Compensation (RONY) Trust helps convenience store operators control their workers comp premiums. By self-insuring with other qualified retailers, your commitment to improving workplace safety and preventing injuries is rewarded in the form of lower costs. First Cardinal Corp., which administers the Trust, will conduct a risk assessment to identify loss causes, make suggestions for improvement, train employees in safe work practices, and assist you in achieving a behavior-based safety culture.

Trade Show & Convention
The annual Convention and Trade Show is the biggest NYACS event of the year, attracting retail operators of all sizes and leading C-store suppliers and service providers from throughout the region. The 2007 edition is May 15-16 at the OnCenter in Syracuse. The theme is "NYACS Goes Hollywood."

Fall Conference
The annual Fall Conference is an opportunity to examine future trends in the C-store industry, make and renew contacts between retailers and suppliers, and salute vendors for their ongoing support of the association. It does not involve trade show exhibits. This year's Fall Conference is Wednesday and Thursday, September 26-27 in Lake Placid NY, with the Chairman's Open Golf Tournament on the 27th.

Publications
NYACS members receive a free copy of, and free listing in, the annual Membership Directory, published in the spring. They also receive a complimentary subscription to the official NYACS newsletter STOREfronts and can receive, upon request, a free subscription to our legislative e-bulletin, NYACS Eye on Albany. In addition, periodically NYACS issues member alerts and special reports.

Education and Training
NYACS provides a variety of learning opportunities for store owners, managers, and employees throughout the year. Presented as stand-alone seminars or as part of the Trade Show or Fall Conference, they cover topics such as technology, human resources, food service, motor fuel operations, customer service, and compliance issues. In addition, NYACS and the Food Industry Alliance of New York State have jointly formed "Responsible Retailers of New York" to provide certified tobacco sales training and alcohol sales training to retail personnel statewide.
